Character

A full and exuberant, intensely garnet-red wine with a powerful and complex bouquet of roasted aromas, raisins, milk chocolate, ripe blackberries and prunes. On the palate it shows evidence of a slight initial sweetness and, once again, the opulent roasted and fruit aromatics, complemented by notes of ripe strawberries and pepper. The flavours are supported by a harmonious, weighty, well-balanced structure and rounded off by an impressively long and enduring finish.

Region

Languedoc-Roussillon

In the South of France, adjacent to the Rhônetal, the country’s largest wine region – the Languedoc – embraces the coastline of the Mediterranean with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterised by an abundance of sunlight, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that flourish here, mainly on limestone soils, are strong and robust thanks to the dryness of the region. Alongside viticulture, olives are also cultivated agriculturally without any additional artificial irrigation. The Languedoc is a multifarious region, with the Mediterranean ambience omnipresent: the typical earthenware, the light textiles and the dainty, delicious cuisine.

Producer/Brand

Saint Genis des Tanyères

Protected by the foothills of Canigou, the easternmost Pyrenean peak, vines grow for Saint Genis des Tanyères. Due to alluvial deposits, the gravel is ample and permeates the earth layer’s surface area. For this reason, the roots must delve deep into the earth, giving rise to robust vines and healthy grapes as a result.
