Character

In the glass, this harmonious wine has a garnet-red gleam. Aromas of ripe dark berries, cherries and damsons with fine tannins enchant the nose and palate. The powerful fruit are supported on a soft, full-flavoured body, while a long finish completes the enjoyment.

Region

Ostschweiz

Spoilt by the föhn wind: The pre-Alpine Eastern part of the country along the Rhine river is home to a large number of winegrowers, many of whom cultivate only a few hectares. Vintners in Eastern Switzerland press almost exclusively red wines from the sophisticated Pinot-Noir vine. The white Riesling vine and many other varieties feel comfortable in Eastern Switzerland. The plentiful föhn winds and the enlivening moisture of the rivers and the lakes produce exceptionally high-quality wines popular beyond the national borders.

Producer/Brand

Bioweingut Lenz

Delinat stands for much more than just organic: Myriad small organisms inhabiting a vineyard provide natural protection against pests. In making its wines, Delinat is committed to the sustainable utilisation of resources, while adhering to high social standards. The same holds true for winegrower Roland Lenz. The vineyards of the largest organic wine producer in the German-speaking part of Switzerland are located on the Iselisberg, in the canton of Thurgau. Here the vines thrive in sandy clay soil with a southern exposure. Roland Lenz relies on mould-resistant grape varieties that can ripen fully in the local microclimate. He only presses completely ripe and healthy grapes – both in Thurgau and at his second operation in Chile.
