Character

A light, fresh and fruity cuvée, on the nose it has intense notes of gooseberry, quince and a hint of fresh grass. On the palate it is dry and somewhat crisp, aromatic and delightfully harmonious. Its fruit aromas and vegetal notes are also very attractive here.

Kastilien-León

Kastilien-Léon umfasst die nördliche Hälfte des grossen zentralspanischen Plateaus. Es erstreckt sich vom Zentrum Spaniens bis fast zur Nordküste; die Rebberge liegen auf 700 bis 1000 m ü.M. Das Klima ist trotz der Nähe zum Atlantik kontinental geprägt, mit heissen, trockenen Sommern, eisigen Wintern und auch grosse Temperaturschwankungen zwischen Tag und Nacht. Weil es zudem sehr wenig regnet, sind die Böden nährstoffarm – ausser in der Nähe der zahlreichen Flüsse der Region, der bekannteste darunter der Duero, wo deutlich mehr Mineralien und Ton zu finden sind.

The Bodegas Aura in the Spanish white wine cultivation area of Rueda is surrounded by vineyards, most of which are planted with Verdejo grapes. Oenologist Teresa Rodriguez is passionate about making the most of her vines. In her eyes, finest quality is synonymous with fruity, fresh and well-structured white wines enjoying excellent durability. In the past, sherry-like wines were produced here, too. Today, modern, vinified and dry white wines pressed from Verdejo and Savignon-blanc vines have become a source of great delight.
