Viticulture

Originally, at the beginning of the 18th century, the Milon vines were used for the 2nd wine of Lafite. Several successions brought the vineyard to nearly 50 hectares in 1855. In 1962, the Rothschilds bought the estate and undertook major work to bring the vineyard to 72 hectares in 2001. The vines are on gravelly soil mixed with aeolian sand on a limestone substratum. They adjoin Lafite and are maintained by the same teams.

Oenology

Vinification by parcel and ageing for 14 months in half new oak barrels.
