Viticulture

This vast Médoc estate is adjacent to Châteaux Lagrange and Branaire-Ducru. The estate has belonged to the Merlaut family (Taillan Group) since 1997. It is situated on a very homogeneous subsoil of medium gravel on a marly base. The vineyard covers an area of 82 hectares. The vines are 45 years old and are planted at a density of 10,000 vines per hectare, with an average yield of around 44 hl/ha.

Oenology

Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts and vatting lasts between 21 and 35 days, punctuated by regular pumping over to extract the wine. Pressing is then carried out in pneumatic presses. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in barrels (50%), followed by 18 months in barrels (50% new).
