Viticulture

The château, bought in 1971, is located on a terroir of very silty clay on bedrock (Troplong-Mondot scree), with a southern exposure and a steep slope. The INAO having refused to integrate this 4.5 ha parcel into the Canon-la-Gaffelière vineyard, Stephan von Neipperg decided to vinify it separately, with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt. After the first vintage in 1996, the wine quickly acquired an international reputation.

Oenology

Alcoholic fermentation and maceration in wooden vats. Pneumatic punching down. Aged in barrels for 12 to 18 months on lees, new barrels.
