Pic Saint-Loup, Cynarah, Château de Cazeneuve - 2021

The first new cuvée in the domaine’s range, Cynarah is made from Cinsault (old vines), Syrah and Grenache (hence the name), vinified in short vatting periods and matured in vats to bring out the fruit. This is a highly aromatic wine (violets, pepper), full-bodied and slippery. An accessible Pic Saint Loup, ideally served at 15-16°.

Viticulture

A red wine made from vines grown according to organic farming principles on clay-limestone soil.

Oenology

The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented using indigenous yeasts. Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel vats.

Domain
The Château de Cazeneuve, a 9th century building, is located in the village of Lauret. It is the heart of the estate bought by André Leenhardt in 1987, after his agronomy studies. A major figure in the region and in the appellation, he helped to take the estate out of the cooperative, to replant its vineyard and to convert it to organic farming with certification in 2010.
