Viticulture

This wine was created in 1959 by the Marquis Bertrand de Lur Saluces. It is made from wines that are perfectly balanced but do not have sufficient density and richness to make a great sweet wine. It is therefore defined as a dry white wine, but this dryness is relative. It is not produced in every vintage (as in 1983 when there was not enough wine that was too lightly structured to become Y!).

Oenology

This wine is made from the selection of lighter wines (which would not be included in the great Yquem wine) or from wines whose grapes have not been affected by noble rot (as in 1978, a difficult vintage for the formation of botrytis).
