The Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 2012 is Champagne Bollinger's Cuvée de Prestige and is only produced in special years when optimal conditions are present during the grape harvest. It is the interpretation of an exceptional year. Bollinger Champagne is mainly made with Pinot Noir, supplemented with Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The base wines are largely matured in barriques with multiple layers, but also in steel tanks. Before they are put on the market, the bottles mature for several years in the cellars: "La Grande Année" five years and eight years. The older one, however, is then released under the designation "R.D." (récemment dégorgé) on the market.
