Château Pavie Decesse, ein Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, ist in gewisser Weise der Zwilling von Château Pavie, mit einem Hauch von Finesse und Frische.
Wow. A big, rich wine with lots of tannins here. It’s full-bodied with a core of tannins that frame the wine nicely. Intense and powerful at the finish.
As ever this is a true highlight of the Pavie stable, still with muscles and concentration but accompanied by the most gorgeous seam of freshness, showcasing the gorgeous limestone soils. This is what balance can look like in these bigger-framed wines and it's lovely. Will age and soften but has the grip and the uplift to carry it through.
Very deep purple-black in color, it has an intoxicating nose of plum preserves, blueberry tart, kirsch and molten chocolate with nuances of licorice, lilacs, clove oil and cedar chest. The full-bodied palate is built like a skyscraper, with a soaring structure of firm, finely grained tannins and brazen freshness supporting the decadent black fruit and spicy layers, finishing very long and fruity.
On est séduit par son équilibre harmonieux, son fruit séveux et sa chair généreuse, entre profondeur et minéralité, ainsi que par sa touche presque saline en finale. Il est moins extrait que d'ordinaire.
A perfumed nose of cherries, blueberries, cedar, toast, cloves and walnuts. Full-bodied with a firm, beautiful frame of fine-grained tannins. Layered and elegant. Intense, powerful and spicy. Dark and intriguing, with wonderful presence in the glass. Keeps going. Only 2 hectares in production because 1.5 hectare replanted.Try from 2027.
