Château Saint-Pierre, Vierter Grand Cru Classé ist Teil der Appellation Saint-Juilen, die dem Weingut all seine Auszeichnungen verleiht.
Vin bien coloré et aromatique. Il présente une bouche tendre, juteuse, caressante qui offre une sensation moelleuse à partir du milieu de bouche, sans que le corps soit intense. Longueur normale.
Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. I must have underrated the 2007 Saint-Pierre because this showed extremely well. This is totally different from the last showing, which was also conducted blind. It has a perfumed, quite feminine bouquet with wilted rose petals infusing the red berry fruit. This seems very composed and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, fine focus and plenty of freshness and vigor towards the lightly spiced finish. This is a very well crafted Saint Julien that should offer another ten years of pleasure.
