This is really minerally and stony with lots of chewy tannins. Medium-to full-bodied with a clean, fresh finish. Very classic Pauillac. Salty at the end with bitter citrus.

Couleur intense, pourpre et sombre. Nez très aromatique, fin, subtil, au fruité mûr. Moelleux à l’attaque, juteux en milieu de bouche, très parfumé, le vin caresse le palais avant de prendre du gras et de l’expression en finale. Très belle longueur savoureuse. Ensemble très bien construit.

Beaucoup de finesse et de puissance dans ce bouquet ! Il est très invitant et authentique tant par ses nuances fruitées que par son inspiration du terroir; ainsi je relève des notes de cèdre, de graphite et de menthe. Nuances fruitées au travers de parfums de baies noires. En bouche le vin est dense, crémeux et ample. Ses tannins sont puissants et se révèlent en crescendo tandis que la structure acide confère de l'énergie et de la vivacité. Un vin qui brille par son aptitude à créer l'harmonie entre puissance et finesse. Grande réussite. Finale fruitée et persistante.

Ich realisiere Noten von Zedernholz, Graphit und Minze. Der Duft von dunklen Beeren komplettiert den Naseneindruck. Am Gaumen ist der Wein dicht, cremig und rund. Seine Tannine sind kräftig und offenbaren sich Schritt für Schritt, während die Säurestruktur dem Wein Energie und Lebendigkeit verleiht. Dieser Balanceakt zwischen Kraft und Finesse macht den 2020er Batailley so ungemein attraktiv. Fruchtiger und anhaltender Abgang. Einfach herrlich!

The 2020 Haut-Batailley is rich and demonstrative, offering up aromas of blackberries and cherries framed by sweet spices, smoke and new oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's broad and expansive, with more overt ripeness, body and texture than was formerly the case for this estate.

Sehr feingliedriges, fast schüchternes Bouquet mit Schattenmorellen, hellem Tabak und Haselnussschokolade, dahinter zarte Graphitnoten und Preiselbeersaft. Am Gaumen mit weicher Textur, körnigem Extrakt, zarten blättrigen Noten, stützendem Tanningerüst und mittlerem Körper. Im Finale blaue Beeren, Baumnussschale und Wacholder, endet mit fein mehliger Adstringenz.

Dark, winey, structured and very Pauillac, this is laden with cassis and blackberry puree flavors scored by charcoal and warm earth, with tobacco and cast iron notes. Very long, focused and seriously well-built finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2027 through 2040.

Potent on the nose, the Cabernet speaking with herbal tones, some minty freshness, aniseed, vanilla and cedar. Crystalline and pristine handling of the fruit, it's so smooth and succulent, not so crisp perhaps but on the edge - strikingly clean, and very pure. Feels effortless to drink, still has concentration but a lovely easy juicines combined with grip from the well integrated tannins makes this a joy to drink. I love the cool touches, the slightly bitter, dark chocolate liquorice elements. Refined and restrained with elegance throughout, not overpowering, still with a wide finish that suggests a large structure but graceful. I love this kind of wine - one that offers a lot of pleasure and isn't too hard to think about. A great buy!
